ENGELSK: Ice climbing adventure On this 1-day climbing tour, the main goal is to get ice climb in moulins on the Buer glacier, however, you will also get to know more about the glacier itself and about geomorphological features left by the receding glacier. After you reach the cabin, your guide will equip you with harnesses and crampons. Then you head up together for a exploration of glacial features as crevasses and moulins. You will get to discover the inside of these features and then climb up. Climbing experience is not needed as long as we will use basic top-rope techniques. It is possible to adapt the climbing part based on the level of experience of the clients. Price: 2 500 NOK Duration: 5 hours (+ 3 hours approach up and down) Meet up: 11:00 o’clock at the mountain hut by the glacier (recommended time to start to hike from Buer farm is 9 30 at latest. Requirements: Good physical condition - the hike includes 600m elevation gain Climbing experience is not required Stiff boots (stiffer boots fit better to crampons) Min. age: 18 yrs What is included? Professional guide carrying safety and first aid-equipment Glacier equipment: harness, crampons, climbing ice axes, via ferrata lanyards Information about local nature and history What to bring Gloves, warm wind- and waterproof clothing, sunglasses, lunch package and solid shoes (trekking boots or sport shoes). The clothing must cover the whole body. Especially, sunny days we have cold wind coming down from the glacier NORSK: Isklatring i Buarbreen På denne 1-dagers klatreturen er hovedmålet isklatring i sprekker i Buerbreen. Du vil også få vite mer om selve breen, både historisk og hvordan breen arbeider og former landskapet. Etter at du kommer til den blå hytta hvor du møter guiden din vil du bli utstyrt med klatresele, stegjern, hjelm, isøks og anna nødvendig utstyr. Sammen med guiden går en inn på breen for å Utforske isen med dens som sprekker og grotter. Du vil få oppdage innsiden breen og deretter klatre opp. Klatreerfaring er ikke nødvendig, vi vil bruke grunnleggende topp-tau-teknikker og det er mulig å tilpasse klatredelen basert på erfaringsnivå. Pris: 2 500 NOK Varighet: 5 timer (+ 3 timer t/r Parkering/blå hytte) Møt opp: kl 11:00 i den blå hytta ved breen, anbefalt tid til møtepunkt fra Buer/parkering er senest kl. 9 30. Cancellation Policy
Day hikes: Customers will receive a full refund or credit with a minimum 2 weeks notice of cancellation. 2-1 weeks in advance you will be charged 50%, less than 1 week in advance will be charged 75% and 3 days in advance will receive no refund. No-shows will be charged the full price. All of our deadlines are also valid in case of illness or accident and they are identical with the cancellation rules. Travel insurance is therefore highly recommended!
