Service Description

Join an exciting glacier hiking trip on Buarbreen! Children as young as 13 years can take part in this fun activity which requires no prior knowledge or experience. On the trip, you get to experience and explore fantastic glacier formations on the Buarbreen and you get an exciting insight into what a glacier actually is together with an experienced guide. LOCATION ODDA DURATION 7 HOURS FITNESS LEVEL MODERATE SEASON 01.JUL- 31.AUG Buarbreen is one of the smaller glaciers in Norway, but what it lacks in size it compensates for in charm! On this trip, you get to experience a living glacier up close and you also get a great hike through a varied landscape before the actual glacier hiking starts. Tour description This trip starts from the parking lot at Buer about 15 minutes from Odda. Here you can park your car before setting off on a marked path to the blue glacier hut by the glacier. The trip to the glacier is fun and varied and goes through a lush cultural landscape. There are several rivers, bridges, and suspension bridges, as well as ropes to hold on to during steeper sections. Along the entire hike into the glacier cabin, you follow a wild and beautiful river foaming with glacier meltwater. When you arrive at the glacier cabin, your guide is ready to welcome you. You will then get an introduction to glacier hiking and equipment such as crampons, harnesses, helmets, and ice axes are fitted. The trip on the glacier requires no prior knowledge or experience, and your guide will ensure both your safety and comfort on the glacier. After the trip, you hike back to Buer on your own, with a backpack full of memories from an exciting glacier hiking trip! Important information The actual glacier hike starts at 10:00 or 14:00. You should estimate at least a 1.5 hours walk to the glacier cabin where you meet your guide. Remember to set off enough time for the hike! We also recommend eating before you meet your guide, as the glacier hike starts at the booked time.

Cancellation Policy

Day hikes: Customers will receive a full refund or credit with a minimum 2 weeks notice of cancellation. 2-1 weeks in advance you will be charged 50%, less than 1 week in advance will be charged 75% and 3 days in advance will receive no refund. No-shows will be charged the full price. All of our deadlines are also valid in case of illness or accident and they are identical with the cancellation rules. Travel insurance is therefore highly recommended! FORCE MAJEURE In the event of situations out of Hardanger Breførings control such as fire, natural catastrophes, etc, Hardanger Breføring reserves the right to cancel any agreement and accepts no legal liability for claims of damage, personal loss or injury.
